Mallow, I keep hearing about all these Roblox "creator programs." But those are for game developers, right? Not relevant to us on the brand side?
Mallow
Actually, hugely relevant. If anything, brands are exactly the ones who should ride these official programs — because it puts you in the position where Roblox itself is helping push you.
Marsh
What are these "creator programs" anyway? How many are there?
Mallow
Three buckets, roughly. (1) Creator Rewards: build a good game and you get Robux. (2) UGC Creator Program: a system for selling avatar items. (3) Verified / Featured: Roblox spotlights titles and creators it endorses.
Marsh
Tell me more about Creator Rewards.
Mallow
A share of platform-wide Robux spending gets redistributed back to developers, weighted by game quality, play time, retention, and similar signals. Effectively, building a good game makes Roblox itself pay for marketing on your behalf.
Marsh
A brand collecting money from Roblox feels a bit odd.
Mallow
Right, the money isn't the point for a brand. The point is: "being eligible for Creator Rewards is a signal that Roblox endorses you." That signal feeds the recommendation algorithm, which means you surface more often.
Marsh
How does the UGC Creator Program fit in?
Mallow
This is the most interesting one for brands. There are thousands of avatar-item creators on Roblox. You commission them: "make items using our brand motifs," and pay royalties. They market to their own followers, and you get far broader reach than running brand-solo would ever produce.
Marsh
In retail terms: an apparel brand telling local designers, "use our materials, design freely, we'll pay a royalty"?
Mallow
Close. As long as they follow brand guidelines, you let them design. They get the privilege of using your brand name plus a revenue share. That way your brand world spreads across the entire creator network.
Marsh
What about Verified / Featured?
Mallow
The Verified Badge (the official checkmark) is the anti-impersonation defense — brands can claim it at the account level. Featured is a curated placement Roblox awards to titles it actively wants to push. It's not an application; you become eligible through relationship. Relationship-building matters there.
Marsh
Can a brand company like us actually open a direct line to Roblox?
Mallow
Direct contact is hard. But via a LiveOps partner (a studio like us) is realistic. Most studios maintain relationships with Roblox staff already, so go through that channel.
Marsh
…So, the executive summary?
Mallow
Three lines. (1) Roblox's creator programs work for brands too — UGC Creator Program is the strongest awareness lever. (2) Claim the Verified Badge at minimum; pursue Featured over time. (3) Relationships with Roblox are realistic through a LiveOps partner, not direct.
Marsh
"Ride the Roblox official wave" is the headline. Bring the creator network in as an ally, and let our world propagate. I'm pitching the UGC creator angle internally next week.
