Roblox Communities get real engagement tools — Polls, no-opt-in Announcements, Analytics, and Support Tickets

Roblox just gave Communities — the group layer that sits around your experiences — a serious toolkit: Polls, Announcement Notifications that reach every member without opt-in, a proper analytics dashboard, rich-text and role-gated forums, and a structured Support Ticket system. For a brand running a Community, this is the difference between a dormant group page and a real audience channel. Mallow and Marsh walk through what's live now, what's coming, and what to actually do with it.

Roblox Communities get real engagement tools — Polls, no-opt-in Announcements, Analytics, and Support Tickets
Key takeaways
  • Live now (in Roblox Communities, the group layer — not inside experiences): Polls, Announcement Notifications, a Community Analytics dashboard, and rich-text Forums.
  • Announcement Notifications no longer require members to manually subscribe — you can broadcast to everyone every 7 days. Roblox's test showed +6.5% community visits and a +66% lift in Announcement Notification click-through rate (CTR). Members can opt out.
  • Polls support single- or multi-select with up to 4 options (per current rollout); anonymous voting is restricted to community members. Analytics tracks visits, members, joins, churn, and forum engagement.
  • Coming: Role-restricted forums (June, require role + age-verified 16+) and a Support Ticket system (in-game entry first; Community entry August 2026, templated replies at launch).

Marsh
Mallow, Roblox announced a bundle of "community engagement tools" — Polls, Support Tickets, that kind of thing. Sounds like Discord features. Is there anything here for a brand?
Mallow
There is, but first the crucial distinction: these live in Roblox Communities — the group layer, the thing formerly called Groups — not inside your experience. So this isn't about gameplay UI. It's about the audience hub that wraps around your experience: the page people join, follow, and get updates from.
Marsh
Okay, so why should a brand care about a group page?
Mallow
Because until now that page was mostly dead weight. You'd set up a Community, people would join, and then… nothing. No good way to reach them, no data, no structure. This update turns it into an actual owned channel — closer to a mailing list plus a forum plus a help desk. For a brand that's the retention and CRM layer Roblox was missing.
Marsh
Start with Polls. What do they actually do?
Mallow
Polls live inside Community Announcements. Single-choice or multi-select, up to 4 options in the current rollout, and you see the percentage breakdown the moment you vote. Anonymous voting is limited to actual community members. For a brand it's the cheapest possible audience research: "which skin should we drop next?", "which event time works?" — answered by the exact people who already follow you.
Marsh
And the Announcement Notifications — isn't that just posting an update?
Mallow
It's bigger than it sounds, because of one change: members no longer have to manually subscribe. Previously a notification only reached people who'd opted in, which was a tiny fraction. Now you can broadcast to your whole membership. Roblox rate-limits it — one notification per 7 days after your last — and members can opt out, but the default reach went from "a sliver" to "everyone."
Marsh
Do we know if it works?
Mallow
Roblox shared test numbers: +6.5% community visits and a +66% lift in Announcement Notification click-through rate (CTR) from the upgraded notifications. Treat vendor-reported lift with healthy skepticism, but directionally it's a real channel now. The 7-day cap also forces discipline — you can't spam, so each broadcast has to earn its slot. That's good hygiene anyway.
Marsh
What's the analytics piece?
Mallow
A Community Analytics dashboard on the admin page and Creator Hub. It tracks page visits, unique visitors, total members, joins, churn, and forum engagement — post views, posts, comments, reactions. With trend charts and filtering. For the first time you can actually see whether your Community is growing or leaking members, and which posts land. Roblox says announcement click-through and join-source data are coming.
Marsh
You mentioned forums. Two kinds?
Mallow
Right. Rich-text forums are live now — bold, italics, lists, block quotes, inline code, all safety-filtered. And role-restricted forums are coming in June: you can gate a forum category to specific roles. Note the requirement there — to access a role-gated category a member must hold the role and be age-verified 16+. So a "VIP" or "insiders" space is possible, but it's 16+ by design.
Marsh
And Support Tickets — that's the help-desk thing?
Mallow
Yes, a structured issue-reporting system with category sorting, replacing the chaos of DMs and random forum posts. But mind the timeline: the in-game entry point launches first, and the Community entry point lands August 2026. At launch, replies are limited to status updates and pre-approved templates; freeform replies (for 13+ users) and image/video attachments come later.
Marsh
Templated-only replies sounds limiting for support.
Mallow
It is, deliberately — it's a safety and moderation choice. For a brand it means you can triage and acknowledge at launch, but rich back-and-forth support comes later. Plan your support SLA around "categorize + templated status" for now, not "full conversation."
Marsh
So if I run a brand experience, what do I actually do this month?
Mallow
Four moves. (1) If you don't have a Community set up around your experience, create one now — it's the container all this plugs into. (2) Turn on Announcement Notifications and plan a cadence within the 7-day cap (launches, events, drops). (3) Use a Poll before your next content decision — instant, free, on-audience. (4) Check the analytics baseline now so you can measure lift later.
Marsh
Anything to be careful about?
Mallow
Two things. (A) The age-gating: role-restricted forums are 16+, which fits the platform's broader age-verification direction but limits who you can put in a "members-only" space. (B) Don't confuse this with in-experience engagement — Polls and Announcements reach your Community followers, not every random player in your game. The Community is the loyal core; treat these as tools for nurturing that core, not for top-of-funnel reach.
Marsh
…Executive summary?
Mallow
(1) Roblox Communities just became a real owned channel: Polls, opt-in-free Announcement Notifications, an analytics dashboard, and rich-text forums — all live now. (2) Role-restricted forums (June, 16+) and Support Tickets (in-game first, Community entry August 2026) are coming. (3) For brands it's the CRM/retention layer Roblox lacked. (4) Set up the Community, start broadcasting within the 7-day cap, poll your audience, and baseline the analytics now.
Marsh
So the group page I'd been ignoring is suddenly a mailing list with a feedback button. Got it.

Frequently asked questions

Are these tools inside my experience or in the Community (group)?
They live in Roblox Communities — the group layer around your experiences — not inside the gameplay itself. The one exception is the Support Ticket system, which has an in-game entry point. Polls, Announcement Notifications, Analytics, and Forums are Community features.
Do members still need to subscribe to get my announcements?
No. The upgraded Announcement Notifications reach all members without manual subscription, rate-limited to one per 7 days after your last. Members can opt out in settings. Roblox's test reported +6.5% community visits and a +66% increase in Announcement Notification click-through rate.
When do Support Tickets and role-restricted forums arrive?
Role-restricted forums are coming in June 2026 (they require the relevant role plus age verification 16+). The Support Ticket system launches its in-game entry point first, with the Community entry point arriving August 2026; replies are limited to templates at launch.
